What’s the cost of a half-degree? Vaisala’s new Origo slashes cooling waste in data centers

Vaisala Origo is a next-generation modular measurement platform designed for reliable monitoring of temperature, relative humidity, CO₂, dew point, and other environmental parameters. It is specifically developed for data centers and other mission-critical environments, where accurate measurements are essential for energy efficiency, operational reliability, and process stability.

Even a temperature deviation of just 0.5 °C can lead to unnecessary overcooling and increased energy costs. With an accuracy of ±0.1 °C and ±1 %RH, Origo helps optimize cooling performance, reduce energy consumption, and maintain stable environmental conditions. This lowers operating costs while improving the reliability of critical infrastructure.

Its modular design supports a wide range of interchangeable Vaisala probes, allowing multiple environmental parameters to be monitored on a single platform. Probes can be easily replaced on-site, minimizing downtime and enabling the system to adapt to changing measurement requirements without replacing the entire installation.

In addition to data centers, Origo is ideal for cleanrooms, hospitals, laboratories, life science facilities, manufacturing plants, and semiconductor production. With its long-term measurement stability, easy maintenance, and flexible expandability, Origo provides a future-proof solution for applications where precision, reliability, and energy efficiency are essential.
