The MINISONIC II Ex (SS) is an explosion-proof ultrasonic flow meter designed for demanding industrial applications. The device features a robust 316L stainless steel housing, providing excellent resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and harsh environmental conditions. This makes the flow meter ideal for applications in the chemical, oil, gas, and process industries.
The MINISONIC II Ex (SS) supports the measurement of liquids and gases and can be used for both pipeline flow measurement and product change detection (ISD). In addition, the system enables the detection of pigs, spheres, and scrapers (PSD) inside pipeline systems.
The device supports up to 2 pipes or 2 chords and is suitable for pipe diameters of up to 10,000 mm. Integrated analog signal processing with Echo Shape Control (ESC) ensures precise and stable measurement results. The flow meter achieves an accuracy of up to 0.5%, repeatability up to 0.1%, and linearity up to 0.1%.
Power supply options include 110–230 VAC or 12–24 VDC. For industrial integration, the device provides a wide range of inputs and outputs, including two isolated 4–20 mA outputs, two isolated contact outputs, two 4–20 mA inputs, and two PT100/PT1000 inputs for temperature measurement.
Communication is available via USB and Ethernet with Modbus TCP/IP as standard. Optional communication interfaces include HART and RS485 (Modbus RTU). An integrated data recorder enables reliable storage of process and measurement data.
The MINISONIC II Ex (SS) operates within a temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C and features IP67 protection. The device is ATEX and IECEx certified for Zone 1 and Zone 2 and complies with international standards such as EN/IEC 60659 and EN/IEC 61326-1. The explosion-proof certification is rated Ex db IIC T6.
