GMW80 Series – Carbon Dioxide, Temperature and Humidity Transmitters for Demand-Controlled Ventilation

The Vaisala CARBOCAP® GMW80 series is based on the latest patented CARBOCAP® technology and is specifically designed for demand-controlled ventilation applications. It combines CO₂ measurement with temperature and, in many models, humidity measurement. Some models also include relay functions and LED indicators for CO₂ levels, providing flexibility for a wide range of projects.

The sensors provide accurate measurements immediately after power-up, as they feature an integrated reference and do not require a long warm-up period. With minimal maintenance, very low power consumption, and energy-efficient CARBOCAP® technology, the transmitters offer a lifetime of up to 15 years.

The models are optimized for quick and easy installation. Versions with IP64-rated enclosures (GMW87, GMW88) provide additional protection for dusty or humid installation sites. This makes the series an excellent choice for buildings in continuous use, where accuracy, stability, and cost efficiency are critical.

The GMW80 series measures CO₂, temperature, and – depending on the model – also humidity. The transmitters use patented CARBOCAP® technology with an integrated reference measurement, which ensures stability and eliminates the need for long warm-up times.

Measurement accuracy is further enhanced by the Microglow light source, which minimizes self-heating and prevents distortion of temperature readings. Models with Modbus RTU (RS-485) enable flexible integration into building automation systems.

The transmitters are designed for easy installation, with pre-mounted screws for switch boxes and electronics that can be snapped on later. Models with IP64-rated housings and cable glands are available for use in more demanding environments.

Each transmitter ensures low-maintenance operation, long service life, and high energy efficiency, making the series ideally suited for demand-controlled ventilation systems.
