The FA(R) DI ZG20 / ZG21 vane wheel inline sensor is a precise small measuring tube designed for stationary flow measurement of gases and liquids. The system is available with internal diameters of 9.7 mm, 18.2 mm, or 25 mm and includes a robust connection housing.
The models can be supplied either with an integrated UFA transmitter or for connection to a separate evaluation unit. The ZG20 version includes integrated inlet and outlet sections, while the ZG21 version is equipped with compression fittings.
Depending on the version, the probe material is made from stainless steel or aluminum, allowing operation at media temperatures up to 370 °C. The device is suitable for measuring operating volume flow in air, gases, gas mixtures, water, and liquids. In addition to clean media, the sensor can also be used temporarily in contaminated media.
An optional flow direction detection function is available. Signal processing can be performed using the integrated UFA transmitter, the flowtherm NT handheld device, the flowtherm Ex, or other compatible system devices.

The FA(R) DI ZG20 / ZG21 covers measuring ranges from ±1.2 l/min to ±160 m³/h in air and gases, and from ±0.2 l/min to ±150 l/min in water and liquids.
Pressure resistance is rated up to 10 bar or 1 MPa overpressure. The allowable media temperature range is -40 °C to +370 °C.
The device is suitable for applications involving air, gases, gas mixtures, water, and liquids.
The connection housing is rated to IP65, while the measuring tube with integrated vane wheel meets IP68 protection class.
An optional explosion-proof version is available according to ATEX Category 2G for Zone 1 applications.
Available sensor outputs include a 4–20 mA analog output, limit value outputs, a pulse output, and an RS232 interface when using the integrated UFA transmitter.
