  • Flowtherm Ex – ATEX-Certified Handheld Device for Flow and Process Measurements in Hazardous Areas

Product Description

The flowtherm Ex is a user-friendly handheld instrument designed according to current safety standards, offering a wide range of applications thanks to its compatibility with various sensors such as vane, vortex, thermal flow sensors, Pt100, and other analog transmitters.

It is specifically developed for measurements in hazardous (Ex) areas, Zone 1, and is ideal for determining gas mass flow and flow rates in air, exhaust air, process gases, particle- and condensate-laden gases, vehicle exhausts, and aggressive media at high temperatures.

The device is ATEX certified (II 2G Ex ib IIC T4), making it suitable for use in explosive atmospheres across industrial sectors, utilities, research, and public authorities.

It allows the simultaneous display of up to three sensors, enabling parallel monitoring of multiple parameters.

The integrated data logger stores up to 40,000 values with date and time, ensuring comprehensive documentation and analysis.

Up to 100 profiles can be saved, making it ideal for different users or measurement locations.

With the USB interface, logged data can be easily transferred to a PC, and the device can be configured efficiently.

The power supply via mains or battery enables both stationary and mobile use.

Technical Specification

The device measures flow velocity, volumetric flow, normalized flow, mass flow, and temperature, enabling comprehensive process monitoring.

It supports sensor inputs for FA, FT, FAR, VA, VAT, TA, TAT, and Pt100, ensuring high compatibility with various sensor types.

Additional analog inputs (4–20 mA or 0–10 V) allow flexible integration of external measurement signals.

The IP65-rated housing ensures reliable operation in harsh environments.

The device is ATEX certified (Category 2G, Zone 1), making it suitable for hazardous areas.

A 12 V supply for 4-wire sensors is available, enabling easy sensor connection.

It supports various measurement modes, including long-term measurements, providing high flexibility for different applications.
