Product Description

The Vaisala MGP261 is a compact multigas probe designed to help you optimize processes, improve efficiency, and reduce operating costs. It measures methane (CH₄), carbon dioxide (CO₂), and humidity (H₂O vapor) directly in the process, supporting applications such as waste-to-energy systems and biogas production.

The probe is ideal for anaerobic digestion of landfill, industrial, and municipal waste, as well as wastewater treatment, CHP (combined heat and power) engine monitoring, and activated carbon filter monitoring.

Thanks to its in-situ measurement capability, the MGP261 can be installed directly into the gas line without sample conditioning, simplifying installation and reducing system complexity. Its Ex certification for Zone 0/1 ensures safe operation in hazardous environments.

The device delivers excellent long-term stability and repeatability using proprietary infrared technology, eliminating the need for calibration gases. A heated probe prevents condensation in wet processes, ensuring reliable performance.

Technical Specification

The probe measures CH₄, CO₂, and H₂O vapor, providing comprehensive gas monitoring in a single device.

It features outstanding long-term stability and repeatability, enabled by advanced infrared measurement technology, reducing maintenance requirements.

The in-situ design allows direct installation into the process, eliminating the need for gas sampling or conditioning systems.

The device is certified for hazardous areas (Ex Zone 0/1), making it suitable for biogas and industrial environments.

A heated probe design prevents condensation, ensuring accurate measurements in humid conditions.

The corrosion-resistant stainless steel housing (IP66) ensures durability in harsh environments.

It operates as a stand-alone probe with digital Modbus RTU communication via RS-485 or three analog outputs (4–20 mA), enabling flexible integration into control systems.

The probe is also compatible with Vaisala Insight PC software, allowing easy configuration, diagnostics, and calibration.
