The PortaCount® Respirator Fit Testers 8040 and 8048 are advanced solutions for quantitative respirator fit testing (QNFT). They support respiratory protection programs from employee training to regulatory compliance and provide reliable, objective fit testing for a wide range of respirators.
Both models feature an intuitive touchscreen interface that allows users to perform fit tests quickly and efficiently. The integrated FitCheck Mode™ displays respirator fit in real time while the mask is being adjusted, helping users select the correct respirator and achieve the best possible fit faster.
Built-in animated video instructions guide users through each fit test exercise step by step, ensuring a consistent testing process while allowing fit test administrators to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. With the group fit test mode, administrators can control and monitor up to four PortaCount instruments at the same time from a single screen.
The PortaCount 8040 is designed for respirators equipped with ≥99% efficient filters, while the PortaCount 8048 also supports N95 filtering facepiece respirators and FFP1, FFP2, and FFP3 masks. The 8048 model includes integrated N95 Companion™ technology for expanded respirator compatibility.
These fit testers are ideal for applications including half-mask fit testing, full-face respirator testing, SCBA fit testing, gas mask fit testing, PAPR fit testing, and disposable filtering facepiece respirator testing.

The PortaCount 8040 and 8048 fit testers are compatible with the latest modified CNC protocols and comply with OSHA, CSA, HSE, INRS, and ANSI standards for tight-fitting respirators.
The integrated FitCheck Mode™ provides real-time respirator fit feedback to improve respirator selection and training. The modern app-style interface simplifies operation and enables users to start fit tests quickly in fewer steps.
The systems include animated fit test exercises that guide users through the correct movements required during testing. The group fit test mode allows administrators to control up to four devices through a single interface.
Integrated FitPro Ultra™ software automates training, testing, and recordkeeping. The software can also generate and print fit test cards and detailed fit test reports.
Both models measure fit factors greater than 10,000, providing highly accurate quantitative respirator fit evaluation.
The PortaCount 8040 supports respirators with 99, 100, and FFP3 filters. The PortaCount 8048 extends compatibility to 95, 99, and 100 series filters as well as FFP1, FFP2, and FFP3 respirators, and includes integrated N95 Companion™ technology.
